Storytelling Show Description:

Robert  Greygrass will stimulate your thinking, roller coaster your emotions, expand your spiritual understanding and make you laugh till you cry, bringing his stories from the Lakota and other tribes, including comical personal narratives from his life.

His traditional northern style singing and cedar flute music stirs and guides everyone a little further on life’s journey. You don't want to miss his lighthearted, poignant and inspiring stories, song, and spiritual insight.

He can adjust his presentations to any age. Robert has performed for tens of thousands of audience members of all ages, in hundreds of corporate events, schools, camps, churches, clubs, theaters, and festivals.

  • Performed Walking on Turtle Island and led workshops for United Nations anti racism conference Sydney Australia 2001.

  • Facilitator for hundreds of Crazy Wellness© workshops for teens and adults nationally and internationally.

  • Prison visits as storyteller, and wellness coach/advisor. England and U.S.

Chosen best actor of the year in Ashland in 1993 as the legendary warrior Crazy Horse in Black Elk Speaks and 1994 for his brilliant and deep portrayal of John Merrick in The Elephant man.

On stage with the Oregon Shakespeare festival, and the OSF school tour from 1995-97.


Selected as Storyteller of the year by Wordcraft Circle of Native Writers 1999.


A working SAG actor and living in California, he pursues voice over, film and TV, and is an active company member of Native Voices at the Autry. He tours internationally with his one man plays, traveling Australia, Germany, Canada, England and all across Turtle Island (U.S.) performing at storytelling festivals, theaters, and universities.


Multi ethnic-Lakota-European and Creole he has an uncanny way of bridging the many worlds of being multi-ethnic. A sun dancer, counselor, father, grandfather, life coach, Robert conveys sensitivity, perfect timing, a fantastic sense of humor, music and good medicine wherever he goes.

Walking on Turtle Island---acclaimed original one man play.

Four plays within the play, and a spirit helper guide to lead the audience along on the journey. Two stories are historical and two are contemporary. The Stories and the guide show the listener how it is to live on Turtle Island (the north American continent).  Follow Iyeska as he introduces us to 21 characters in four seperate stories, druing a two act, hour and forty five minute epic one man play written and performed by Robert. Michael O'rourke adapted one story from the book Night Flying Woman.  Requires theater, lights and sound system.

 

GhostLands of an Urban NDN

Follow Robert and his alter ego Big Nose, as they journey through the urban landscape of NDN's, America, mixed blood experience, religion, recovery and all the ironies of "wearing skin" looking through these modern eyes, with humor wonder and redemption.

Workshops Offered by Robert.

Crazy Wellness©

This workshop can be done in one, two hour block or two, one hour blocks and we can fit it to what ever age group, and or wellness theme you are looking for. Everything from self esteem building, to communication to basic acting skills, are wrapped up in this fun, creative session. Appropriate for teens and up.

Show the Story©

This workshop is for 5th through 8th grade and is a way for the students to tell the story. Robert performs a storytelling assembly; then the kids spend three days rehearsing, building sets, learning a powwow song or two, and then show time for the school, mom and dad and the community.
